Europe – Aspen's home market

Aspen was founded in 1988 by Roland Elmäng whose background was at BP and Volvo. His know-how of alkylate petrol's superior environmental and health properties was the starting point when he started Aspen. He presented his idea for a new chainsaw fuel that was healthier for the user and had a lower environmental impact, to Husqvarna AB, one of the world's leading chainsaw manufacturers. They immediately realised the benefits, and a long-term partnership began with Aspen in 1988.
